GloSauna Terms & Conditions
We want you to leave our sauna, Glo-ing, so please make sure you are comfortable in your wellbeing and health prior to doing so. Here’s a little check list to guide you;
- pregnant
- heart attack or stroke
- taking any medications
- have cardiovascular conditions, or problems
- have epilepsy
- have asthma or breathing conditions
- High or low blood pressure
If you unsure about any of the above, please contact your GP
The sauna is wood-fired and is extremely hot, so please do not touch it, other than as instructed by the Saunista to pour water onto the stones to create the loyly.
Please bring drinking water (no glass bottles) and stay hydrated throughout your session.
GloSauna will not take responsibility for the damage or loss of your property, so please leave valuables at home.
If you have made a group booking on behalf of your friends or family please make sure they understand the terms and conditions of using a sauna.
Alcohol, smoking and drugs are not permitted in or near the sauna and we reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone we feel may be under the influence of above.
Please enter and exit the sauna with care.
In communal bookings, when leaving the sauna for your cold water therapy, please take your towel with you as others my wish to move within the sauna.
Please remove your shoes before entering.
Please do not use essential oils in the sauna without permission.
If you choose to use the cold water bath, you must wash the sweat off your body with the watering can or shower prior to immersion.
Our Narvi Black 16 stove reaches a very high temperature, so please do not touch any part of it and use our bucket and ladle to drizzle water gently on the rocks to create the beautiful steam called Loly.
Anyone using cold water as a ‘cold plunge’ does so at their own risk. You should ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures and tides.
GLO Wellbeing Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all bookings made with GLO Wellbeing in respect of hiring a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP), hiring a kayak, taking a SUP lesson and/or participating in any event organised by GLO Wellbeing.
By making a booking with GLO Wellbeing you confirm to us that you have read and accept these Terms and Conditions, including the additional terms and conditions.
Where you are making a booking with GLO Wellbeing on behalf of other people (your party) you confirm to us that you have the authority to make the booking on behalf of your party and that you have read and accept on behalf of your party these Terms and Conditions.
You are deemed to be ‘Making a booking’ by agreeing a date and time of hire or to participate in an event/lesson with GLO Wellbeing by any means, or by making a payment for the event/hire/lesson, or by signing to hire a board or kayak.
Participants must be fit for their chosen activities, in good health, be competent swimmers and be confident in the water. Anyone who cannot swim must not take part.
Anyone suffering from any medical condition, illness or allergy or other condition which may affect their ability to undertake their chosen activity or may increase their risk of undertaking the activity must notify GLO Wellbeing in writing prior to making a booking. GLO Wellbeing cannot accept responsibility for injury or accident resulting from any client’s medical condition. The client is responsible for ensuring they bring with them any prescribed medication and/or equipment that may need to be taken by them during their time at GLO Wellbeing.
Clients acknowledge that all water sports involve a degree of risk both to people and property. All participants agree to partake in their chosen activity or activities with GLO Wellbeing entirely at their own risk. Clients understand and accept when hiring equipment, they will not be supervised and will be responsible for themselves.
GLO Wellbeing operates in busy settings on the beach and river banks. It is the nature of these sites that they can be busy and do have uneven ground, loose stones and other hazards. Participants and guests should take great care in these areas, pay attention to other users and potential hazards, natural and man-made. The activities will take place in open conditions and are subject to the weather and sea conditions; e.g. these could involve hot sun, cold wind, cold water, rain. Clients are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear for the conditions, to use sunscreen and wear hats as appropriate. GLO Wellbeing offers wet suits for hire for an additional sum and will recommend that wet suits are worn in certain conditions. Clients are advised to carry water with them.
When on the water clients are asked to maintain a reasonable distance between the SUP boards and/or kayaks to avoid collision. If any client is behaving in a manner which GLO Wellbeing judges to be creating an unnecessary risk to themselves or to anyone else GLO Wellbeing reserves the right to ask the client to leave the water and end their session. In such cases no refund will be given.
Clients suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs and deemed to be unfit will be refused permission to take part in any activity or use any equipment on the sea and/or river and shall not be entitled to a refund.
Competency
GLO Wellbeing has the final decision on a person’s competency. In certain weather conditions GLO Wellbeing will increase competency level requirements whilst the conditions persist, these decisions are at the sole discretion of GLO Wellbeing.
You will be issued with a buoyancy aid which you are required to wear at all times on the water. The buoyancy aid will help a conscious person stay afloat in the water - IT IS NOT A LIFE JACKET.
All clients are required to attach a leash connecting them to the SUP. The leash must be kept attached to the client at all times whilst on the water.
Clients hiring SUP boards and kayaks are required to remain within 200 metres of the shoreline.
Children
Anyone under the age of 18 is only permitted to participate in activities or hiring with GLO Wellbeing under the supervision of their parent or guardian. GLO Wellbeing does not offer childcare facilities and cannot be responsible for supervising and watching individual hires. Parents and guardians must verify that the child/children can swim confidently and are able to self-rescue to a SUP board or kayak if the need arises. Children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times whilst on land and on water.
Children under the age of 8 are not permitted to participate in activities or hire with GLO Wellbeing except where their parent or guardian is a fee paying client taking their child with them under their supervision.
Prices and payments
Charges for hire are based on an hourly basis as advertised on the website.
Charges for events are set on an event by event basis and are as given on the website or as set and advertised for each event.
Bookings can be made in advance by paying a 50% deposit. Bookings must be paid in full 48 hours before commencement.
Ad hoc hire can be paid for at the time of hire by either cash or card. GLO Wellbeing encourage payment by card during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Any booking paid for by GLO Wellbeing gift vouchers must be completed before the expiry date of the voucher.
Cancellation
If you have booked a lesson or hire or event and then wish to cancel you need to inform us prior to 48 hours before the lesson, hire or event. Where it is possible an alternative date and time will be arranged. If this is not possible you will be issued a voucher valid for 12 months from the date of issue. If you cancel within 48 hours or fail to turn up for your lesson or hire or event, the full charge will be payable and no refund will be made.
In the event that GLO Wellbeing have to cancel a lesson or hire or event due to inclement weather or sea/river conditions or other circumstances, you will be issued a voucher valid for 12 months from the date of issue or given a full refund.
Insurance
GLO Wellbeing holds public liability insurance to cover its activities.
GLO Wellbeing accepts no liability for any injury, illness, death or damage which occurs to clients whilst they are engaged in hiring a SUP or kayak or participating in stand up paddleboading or kayaking or in any other event and/or activity arranged by GLO Wellbeing.
GLO Wellbeing accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to any personal possessions carried by its clients or left with GLO Wellbeing whilst participating in activities and/or hire with GLO Wellbeing.
Personal insurance against loss, damage, injury or accident whilst participating in activities and/or hire is the responsibility of the client. All clients are themselves liable for any loss or damage caused by them or their party to GLO Wellbeing equipment, third party equipment or third parties.
Photos
GLO Wellbeing takes photos of its activities and the participants for marketing purposes. The photos will only be used by GLO Wellbeing for promotional materials (e.g. website, Facebook, brochure, leaflets). By agreeing these terms and conditions you are consenting to this use of photographs including your image. If you would prefer not to be photographed or not to have such photographs used in this way please inform GLO Wellbeing in writing.
Group Bookings
Payment
For all bookings for six or more boards and/or kayaks you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% of the total cost at the time of booking. The balance must be paid 7 days before the event.
River Trips
You may only participate in a river trip if you are an experienced paddleboarder or kayaker as relevant, preferably having received tuition (not necessarily from GLO Wellbeing) in paddle boarding. You need to be competent and able to manoeuvre around obstacles on, above and under the water. If you are in doubt about your level of competence please speak to us prior to booking your trip.
COVID 19
We have put certain measures in place to protect us and our clients.
· Hand sanitiser is available to all on arrival and we ask that you use it before touching any equipment.
· We wipe or spray with sanitiser touch points on our equipment after use if it is to be used again within 72 hours.
· Sanitising spray and/or wipes are also available should you wish to wipe down equipment before use.
· We ask all clients and visitors to respect social distancing.
In line with current restrictions, we are not able to assist you by hand on/in the water and therefore, should the need arise, you are responsible for your own self-rescue. In an emergency, should you or one of your party require assistance your instructor may have to break the 2m social distancing rule.
If you and/or any of your party have had Covid-19 or suspect that you may have contracted and/or been exposed to COVID-19 or begin to display any symptoms of COVID-19 (however mild) within 14 days prior to your session, we respectfully ask you not to book nor attend a session at this time. If you have already made a booking we ask you to contact us to rearrange at a safe time in the future.
GLO Wellbeing, its instructors and other staff will not be liable in any way for any losses, damage or other claims whatsoever arising from the contracting of COVID-19 whilst engaging in any of our activities and/or sessions and/or hiring of our equipment.
